Our Farm(land)

Soil Health

We have made conscious decisions about how we farm, our conservation and regenerative practices, and documenting experiments we are conducting on the farm.

No-Till. Covercrops. Silvopasture. Rotational grazing. Permaculture

Solar Energy

When we purchased the land in 2023, there was no electrical utility established at that property. The address didn’t even show up in the electric company’s system. The farm was still completely “off grid.” It was a perfect opportunity to see how far solar could go and create a case study of running an entire farm exclusively on solar energy. We are learning as we go!

More to come….

Rainwater Collection

Along with no electrical utilities, there is also no running water on the farm. We inherited an old animal well that had been covered for years. Once tested and restored, it will be fitted with a solar pump. The water well will supplement our rainwater collection. This alternative water source will be used for crop irrigation and to supply water for the animals. We will be documenting the systems we use, quantity of water collected, and how far it goes.
